TRAINING SYSTEM DATABASE

A typical training system data base is shown below.  The database is a tool that permits successful analysis of a large and complex system that requires the aggregation of an enormous amount of information.   It records the facts associated with the training system in a manner  that ensures the accuracy and traceability of data. It is tailored to the particular requirements for an analysis.   The database is based on the Master Task List (MTL).

The tasks in the Master Task List are grouped by Mission Phase and Mission Events.   Other database information is keyed to the Master Task List. (See sample Master Task List)

The database uses Queries to relate its information.  The queries allow users to derive a Training Task List from the Master Task List,  quickly identify how well various media train can train particular tasks, to prioritize needed systems improvements and to perform media allocations.  Pressing the Queries Button provides a list of available queries.  The user may be prompted to key in thresholds for a query.

The database can also produce reports.  These are essentially printouts of queries formatted for ease of reading.  When the user presses the Reports Button a list of available reports is presented

Key Benefits

Facilitates examination of the data on the various parts of the training system as they relate to one another and the aircraft.

bullet

Resolve ambiguities in the data as it is accumulated.

bullet

Compares media options

bullet

Tracks modifications of the aircraft that  affect the training system

bullet

Links training system requirements to the specifications.
